SnackFever [January 2017] Review

Let me start off by saying I love SnackFever. Everything from their customer service to the products you can expect in your monthly box is flawless perfection. (*♡∀♡) My very first SnackFever box was the special SnackFever x Viki collaboration box from August 2016. I signed up because my K-Drama fever was at an all-time high, and it’s okay to treat yourself sometimes. 😉

Moving along… I always meant to write a review about my SnackFever subscription, but life has a way of keeping you on your toes, so here we are many months later. The January 2017 SnackFever box was filled with amazing goodies. Everything was soooo good that just looking at the item list on the SnackFever blog makes my mouth water. (I was subscribed to the old Deluxe box, which was $40.00/month. It always had a lot of snacks in it–it just felt like more this particular month.)

Why does it seem like there are so many things in this month’s box?! 😲 I’m so happy! #snackfever #nyanuary

To recap from the SnackFever blog, the January box had the following treats in it:

  • Butter Coconut Biscuits
  • White Heim Hazelnut Cream Wafers
  • Cereal Choco Bites
  • Free Time Chocolate Bar
  • Green Grape “Jadu” Candy
  • Chicken Macho – Fantastic Wasabi
  • Tteokkochi Chips
  • Pororo Strawberry Drink
  • Jin Jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Noodles)
  • Ottogi Instant Rice
  • Tempura Udon Cup
  • Maple Walnut Puffs
  • Naked Roasted Seaweed Snack
  • Baked Cheese Potato Gratin Chips

My favorite items from the box were the Ottogo instant rice (So convenient!), the maple walnut puffs, and the Pororo strawberry drink (What I got to drink anyway–my daughter stole it from me after a few sips! Haha!)! Even if I didn’t like all the items in the box–which I definitely did–I would have felt like I got my money’s worth because, for only $40.00, I had 14 snacks shipped straight to my doorstep. (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

Now that I’ve (very briefly) discussed the box, I want to touch on a couple of other areas that fall under the customer service umbrella.

  • Lost Package: SnackFever easily has the best customer service I’ve ever received from an online retailer. There was an incident in which the post office lost my box for almost a month, so I contacted SnackFever asking if they could please follow up with the Post Office. Let me be very clear here: I never held SnackFever responsible for the lost package. As someone who frequently sells things online, I figured they would have kept a copy of their receipt and would be able to provide the necessary information to the Post Office to find out what might have happened to the package. Additionally, boxes that are sent out Priority Mail are insured up to $50.00, so if my box was lost I was hopeful that SnackFever would have filed an insurance claim to be reimbursed so that they could send me a new box. David Chung replied to my e-mail and kept an open line of communication with me as we investigated what happened to my box. The whole situation was handled in a very professional way that made me, as a consumer, feel like they cared about me. In a happy coincidence, my lost box showed up on my doorstep the same day that David planned onsending out my new box, so we had a happy ending! SnackFever didn’t have to send me a new box and I finally received the package we thought was gone forever! ( ´ ▽ ` )
  • Cancellation: Unlike some subscription boxes (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), SnackFever doesn’t have a ridiculously small cancellation window. Cancelling my subscription was quick, easy, and pleasant. I didn’t want to cancel my subscription (MY SNACKS! ಥ﹏ಥ) but I did, for financial reasons. You can bet that once I’m back in a comfortable place financially, I’ll be reactivating my subscription faster than … well, something fast. I feel confident going back to a company who didn’t make me feel guilty about cancelling or make up arbitrary rules about how they had to charge me for an additional three months because I didn’t cancel within a certain time frame, even though the wording for  the auto-renewal can only be found in their terms of service and nowhere else on the website. (Honestly, who does that? Definitely not SnackFever! They’ve been completely reliable and honest the whole time I was subscribed to their box, and ever afterwards.) A friend of mine also had an excellent experience cancelling her SnackFever subscription. She completely forgot about the renewal and sent them an e-mail explaining that she hadn’t intended on renewing her subscription, and they were more than helpful to her, cancelling her subscription and refunding her money. I can’t emphasize how important it is to know that a company sees you as more than a dollar sign.

All that being said, I recently signed up to be a SnackFever affiliate! (Who knows, maybe I’ll earn enough money to subscribe again. lol) If you’ve been thinking about subscribing to SnackFever I would be eternally grateful if you used my link. You can also click on the SnackFever graphic in the footer of my site! Using my link is a win-win situation because you’ll have delicious, fantastic Korean snacks delivered straight to your door from Korea and I get a little money to stay alive. (Yay, life!)

Would I recommend SnackFever to a friend? The answer is a RESOUNDING YES! And, now that SnackFever ships straight out of Korea (not Koreatown, California!) they offer WORLDWIDE SHIPPING! So, my friends, I encourage you to get your snack on! (o^▽^o)

I would LOVE to see an unboxing video from you! I tried to film one for my SnackFever box, but it was so big that I couldn’t fit everything into the frame!
